About This Research

To map the potential dengue fever hazard of Hong Kong based on the survey data of ovitraps and land and meteorological predictors.

To identify the socioeconomic determinants of dengue fever vulnerability and estimate the Hong Kong population’s vulnerability to dengue fever based on the determinants using principal component analysis.

To detect the Hong Kong population’s risk to the dengue fever hazard at the community scale with the triangle weighting method combining hazard, exposure, and vulnerability.

To provide the understanding about hotspots and determinants of dengue fever risk to refine the current dengue-fever-related prevention, surveillance, control, and management in Hong Kong and propose future plans from the perspectives of information services, surveillance adjustment, health actions, urban planning, etc.
